Description
As the Software Development Engineer for AXU (Amazon eXperiences & Upskilling),
you will be responsible for delivering the tools and processes required to
deeply embed inclusion into everything Amazon creates. The AXU strategy to move
to a born inclusive-mental model will require this team to provide guidance to
enable Amazon's product, engineering, user experience, and science teams to
easily build inclusion into everything they create. The Born Inclusive model
will improve the products used by Amazon employees at scale, as well as the
broad and diverse customers Amazon serves around the world.
In this highly strategic, individual contributor role, you will work closely
with cross-functional teams across Amazon to enable the delivery of
transformative inclusive experiences. You will be relentlessly focused on
providing Amazon's builders with the processes and tools that will make it
effortless for teams to build truly inclusive products.

Key Responsibilities: • Serve as a technical lead on demanding, cross-functional
projects that drive Amazon's e-commerce innovation • Build strong collaborations
across product, engineering, and science teams to successfully deploy solutions
at Amazon scale • Drive technical architecture decisions and establish
engineering practices that ensure scalability, reliability, and performance •
Translate complex business requirements into robust, scalable technical
solutions • Evaluate and make decisions about new technologies and tools that
advance our technical capabilities • Mentor and guide junior engineers on
design, coding, troubleshooting, and operational excellence • Navigate
cross-functional dependencies, assess risks, and make appropriate trade-offs
weighing value vs. time to market • Foster an environment that promotes rapid
experimentation, continuous learning, and incremental value delivery
Technical Leadership: • Lead the architecture, design, and implementation of
highly scalable distributed systems • Drive adoption of best practices in code
quality, testing, and technical documentation • Make significant contributions
to team roadmap and future planning • Stay informed about latest technical
advancements and identify opportunities to apply them • Participate in the
Amazon-wide Software Development Community through internal/external events
